Thomas John on 8 March 1784 in the parish of Llanegwad mixed and mingled 4

scruples of white arsenic with honey and water and gave it to his infant daughter, Elizabeth aged 6 years intending to poison her.  Elizabeth was sick and distempered from 8 o'clock in the morning till 11 o'clock when she died (WALES 4/745/3).

Death sentence passed on Monday 29 March (WALES 14/5 ).
